The Happiest Place on Earth....

We've just returned from the happiest place on earth... Disney World! Chris kept saying, "If Disney World is the happiest place on earth then why are there so many kids crying!" We had a great time though. We were in Florida for 8 days and went to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios, and Epcot. We also took a day and went to the beach. It definitely was a challenge having a 4 month old baby with us and at first I was so stressed. I was told Florida was hot... but I had NO clue what we were in for. I have NEVER experienced that kind of miserable heat and humidity. It felt like we were constantly in a sauna. The whole time we were there it was record breaking heat, even the news was telling people to stay inside. Sadly all my cutely planned outfits with their matching bows for McKenna went right out the window because of the heat. It was WAY too hot for her to even where pants! She was usually just in her top. By the end of the trip Chris and I had perfected having an infant there though. We just tried to stay inside shops as much as possible and keep McKenna cool. I also perfected nursing in the most random places and McKenna learned to give in quickly when she was sleepy! We had so much fun on all the rides and shows. Unfortunately while we were there McKenna also experienced her first fever and cough... she and I spent one of that day at the hotel. McKenna slept and I lounged and watched TLC! We had such a great time! Here are some pics from our adventure!

McKenna's 1st plane ride...

She discovered paper on this trip! She had fun tearing up the plane magazines and many, MANY park maps!

Day 1 at Animal Kingdom...

Day 2 at Magic Kingdom! This is the whole crew...

The Castle! I just love it!

Ready to go home after a long day!

Day 3 at MGM Studios! Mickey was so funny! We had to wait in line forever and right before we got to him he left for a few minutes for a "cheese break," I just found that explanation funny!

Day 4 at Epcot! Chris was having some pain issues with his feet... don't mind the socks with the crocs... fashion disaster!

My Baby girl!

McKenna as a Viking!

Chris and McKenna with a big creepy troll!

This guy was standing on chairs stacked on each other... it was a fun little show.

Princess Aurora! Chris has had a crush on Sleeping Beauty since he was a little boy... I let her know that!

Watching Fireworks!

Sitting in Minnie's house!

Cinderella!

Belle!

The castle at night! So pretty!

Chris with his turkey leg... he has been saying for I swear 2 years that he wants a turkey leg so I made him buy one! He enjoyed it!

Parade!

McKenna's first dip in the ocean!

In one of the stores you could make your own Mr. Potato Head by filling the box with whatever you want. Our box was um..... overflowing. We didn't think they would let us have all of it and they did! It was so fun picking out all the stuff! McKenna can now have a pricess, darth vador, or original potato head!

We're glad to be home! Packing here we come!

McKenna's Discoveries

McKenna has had several discoveries in the past couple of weeks! Here are some of them!

1. Watermelon... Chris feels the need to let McKenna try several things including watermelon. She LOVED it and wanted more!

2. Swimming... We took McKenna to the pool for the first time! I think she was a little confused and not really sure what to think.

3. Her hands and feet... It is a rare occasion if McKenna does not either have her hands in her mouth or holding on to her feeties!

4. Her bumbo chair... I bought McKenna a bumbo chair since she is so observant. She loves to sit up!

5. Mommy... again! McKenna was getting out of her mommy's girl stage when I had to go back to work but now that I am done working, she is right back to that. It's okay! We adore each other!

Goodbye to Teaching... Hello to Mommyhood!

Last Friday was Lehi High's graduation and officially my last day working. I am so lucky to be able to be home with McKenna and I'm so excited to be a stay at home mom and to be a supportive wife to Chris through Med School. I am going to miss teaching though and am so glad that I got the chance to use my degree! Maybe one day I will return to teaching... you never know!

Two of my favorite students, Miquelle and Katie! I'll miss the students and the good times!
