McKenna's Faces!

Yesterday McKenna turned 7 months! With all the moving and changing over with insurance, etc. I wasn't able to get McKenna in for her 6 month appointment until yesterday. All is well! She is 17 lbs. which is in the 50 percentile, her head is the 50 percentile, and she is in the 90th percentile for her height!

She did very well with her shots! This is her at the doctor's office... she was even smiling when we were leaving! I was relieved she got over the pain quickly!

A little while ago our friend Jessy did a little photo shoot of McKenna to add to her photography portfolio. She called it "The many Faces of McKenna." I just loved this because I love how expressive McKenna is! She did a great job and here are some of the photos!...

Star Struck!

We had an enrichment activity last night for church and Bette-Sue from the Biggest Loser came and spoke to us! For those that don't know... I am a HUGE (and I mean HUGE,) Biggest Loser fan! I was there early since I have recently been called as the assistant enrichment leader and when she walked in I was just SO excited! I felt kinda silly... but I really was! She is adorable, hilarious, and inspirational! She told some of her most personal experiences both from her own life and from the Biggest Loser. It was just fabulous!!!

Me with Bette-Sue!!! Isn't she so cute!

My friend Danielle with Bette-Sue!

Afterwards I went up to talk to her and I helped her out with all her stuff to her car! I came home and told Chris that we were pretty much best friends now!... she did tell me to add her on facebook... which of course I did!

P.S. Biggest Loser starts up again next week!

Shop, Play, Eat... it's a hard life!

We have now been in Arizona for a little over a month and I can honestly say I LOVE it here! People complain about the heat but we all got used to it really fast and it doesn't bother me! I loved teaching so much but I am just loving life as a stay at home mom and wife, it is the best. I have not felt this calm and put together in so long. McKenna get to spend all our days together! Here are some pictures of what we do all day!

Shop...
I try and not spend money... but some of my friends and I will try and think of reasons to go to the store! This trip to Costco three of us went and we each only got like one thing... we just like to get out! This was McKenna's first time sitting in the actual cart! I just thought she looked so old sitting there!

Play...
I recently got McKenna a "sit and step" it is called! I like it because she can sit and play in the kitchen or where ever else I am... we drag it all around! Lucky Chris who got to assemble it!

Crafts and Hobbies...
So although I was a "Home ec" teacher, I feel like I finally have time to really work on my talents and hobbies. I have always loved cake decorating... but now... I'm officially obsessed! What other dorks spend their free time sketching wedding cakes and googling techniques. The hard part is that there isn't always a reason to make a cake... so my new goal is a cake a week. So basically I find ANY reason to make a cake! This is one I did for BYU's first game of the season! Chris agreed to this new goal as long as I give all the cake away so we don't sit there and eat it all... I agreed!

I also have been trying to be more "crafty!" I know this isn't very crafty... buying letters and painting them... but I had fun!

A Night Out on the Town!!!

Alright... so going out to eat followed by Chris studying and me spending the rest of the night watching What Not to Wear isn't exactly a night out on the town... but these days it's close enough! I have been informed by Chris that our hobby of going out to eat has to stop now that we are poor students again. I have convinced him that the hobby can slow down without completely coming to a stop!

We have already made some great friends here in AZ! We went to Texas Roadhouse tonight with Jessy and Kyle and enjoyed the rolls, food, and great company!

Happy Half Birthday!

Last week McKenna turned 6 months! It seems like she has been in our lives much longer than half a year, but it is crazy how fast they grow! I decided to copy my sister and make her a half cake for her first half birthday... any excuse for cake!

The proud parents!!!

All Growed Up and Going to Med School!

Yesterday was Chris' first day of classes for med school... so we did the classic first day of school pic! So far here is what we know...

1. There is going to be a lot of studying
2. The seats he has to sit in at school are VERY uncomfortable
3. I'm sooooo glad we got cable because I am going to become very good friends with TLC and the Food Network with all this school work Chris is doing!

Although it is going to be a lot of work I know Chris is happy to be a student again!

Goodbye Utah... Hello Arizona

This was our cool trailer we rented for the week that Chris' parents pulled for us down to Arizona!

After Chris and I decided we were going to Arizona our days were filled with making plans and spending as much time with our family and friends. We will certainly miss Utah. We graduated from college, worked, and started our family in the last 5 years all in UT.

We are going to miss have Chris' parents around so much! We have gotten so close to them!

Also... right before we left McKenna ate cereal for the very first time... although she tastes just about everything on Chris' plate, including his dinner roll which is in a picture below! We can't keep this girl away from food! She loves it!!!

Now we are in Arizona and loving it so far. Church went great on Sunday and we hope to make some great friends with some of the other couples in our same position. We spend a lot of time at the pool! Chris starts orientation in the morning!
