On October 11th the girls and I were SOOOOOOOO excited to leave for a disney trip with Nana, Papa, and aunt Maddie!!!
They asked me a little while ago if we'd be "interested" in joining them while Chris was still gone... Hmm... let me think about it.... YES!!!!! It REALLY helped me get through the last month of Chris being away! It gave me something to plan for, make shirts for, pack for, and of course... to look forward to!
The girls (McKenna really since Adyson really could care less about bribes) had been earning marbles to earn the trip. It was a GREAT way to get her to listen by threatening constantly when I was in survival mode sometimes :) The night before we left I told McKenna them that if they had a really good sleep and didn't wake up at 5 then they would earn the rest of their marbles and we could go. They took this to heart and I ended up going in to wake them up at like 8:00... they were both just sitting there quietly!
Before they got in the car they opened a present up... Cinderella! We watched it I think 10 total times throughout our trip :)
When we got to Anaheim we settled into the hotel and then headed over to Cheesecake factory for dinner!
Nana and McKenna enjoying the cheesecake! Adyson LOVED the whip cream :)...
The girls thought the beds were SOO cool!...
Breakfast in the morning... they had a little kids table. The girls were in heaven!
CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE
We first headed over to the new cars land!!!
The new Ariel ride... McKenna is obsessed with Ariel so it was so fun. Although she didn't want to go on it again because of the bad guy in it... Ursela!
Woody... McKenna was NOT shy and did great with all the characters... Adyson liked them from afar but was terrified to get close!
Toy Story...
The Carousel... the girls would ride it over and over again ALL day long! We rode it PLENTY of times!
It was CRAZY to me that McKenna was tall enough to go on SO many of the rides! She LOVED the swings and that's all she wanted to go on after we went on them! She also went on Soarin California, Thundermountain Railroad!!!!!, and drove the car at Autopia!
The Goof... in a plaid suit? :)
Jake... Adyson wanted nothing to do with him!
The Carnival games... These people were... DEDICATED to winning some stuffed animals! They didn't mess around!
The funniest one was the fishing. You won a prize no matter what. The size of it depended on what color was on the bottom of the duck. McKenna won a little turtle (the smallest prize.) Therefore Adyson wanted a turtle. But she kept winning the big prizes. And since she's spoiled rotten. They played until she won the small turtle! Hahaha! She still sleeps with it every night and McKenna takes her Dumbo EVERYWHERE.
The winnings...
The parade! Once again Adyson was pretty terrified and would barely look!
Night time... we were waiting for The World of Colors show to begin and the girls were OUT!!! But they did wake up for the show!
THE BEACH!
The second day we slept in to recover from closing the park the night before then we went to the beach! The water was beautiful and the sad was AMAZING!!!!! It had gold flecks in it everywhere!!!!!
Dang Seagull.... I thought it was cute until they all attacked our food.... and stole Nana's straw out of her cup!
Papa is a pro sand castle builder so he showed the girls his skills :)
The beach was amazing and the perfect in-between day to have in the middle of the park days!!! That night we went to Chilis for dinner and then to Downtown Disney!
DISNEYLAND!
Disneyland will always be one of my VERY favorite places to be especially at Halloween time since 6 years ago that is where and when Chris proposed and our family began!! It was SUPER sad not having him with us but it was still so fun to be there at Halloween time! Plus we were celebrating Aunt Maddie's 16th BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goofy not in a plaid suit :)
Minnie... When Adyson saw Minnie she was SO excited and she was the first character that Adyson WANTED to see! She kept saying "Minnie nice Mommy!"
The Birthday Girl!!!!!!
The girls were of course sooo excited to see the princesses. When we got in line for them Snow White was there. Adyson LOVES Snow White and she was SO very excited. Then they switched Princesses before we got up there :( Adyson was sad but we told her she had to go to lunch. She still says, "Snow White went to lunch." But at least she got to see her from afar! All the princesses were so sweet and they spent so much time talking to the girls! I got such cute video of it all! They even walked them over to the next princess!
Cinderella...
Belle...
Tiana...
There were 3 princesses out at a time so after we saw the first 3 Papa was soo kind to wait in line for us again while we went on It's a Small World... (He DESPISES this ride :) So does Chris... so I called him while we were on it so he could listen to the music... over. and. over. again :0)
Jasmine...
Ariel...
Aurora...
I then changed the girls out of their dresses and into their matching shirts with the birthday girl!
We spent the rest of the day on rides! The girls loved the tea cups and Dumbo!!!
And to end the night Maddie got her "drives license!" The perfect thing to do on a 16th Birthday!!!!
We closed the park again with fireworks and then we headed home the next morning. It all went by way to fast and the only good thing was that we were that much closer to having Chris home!!! It was VERY sad to say goodbye but holy cow was it a blast!!!!! I want to go back... every week :) We can't say thank you enough to Nana and Papa for the trip and for SPOILING us all rotten. We love you!!!
