Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend we headed down to St. George with Chris' parents and little sister Madison. We spent time on the lake in the new boat and we spent a day in Vegas just walking around. It was a lot of fun and good to get out for the weekend!

So there I was just walking along through one of the hotels when everyone stopped and was staring at this statue. I was like "why is everyone putting money on that statue," and then... HE MOVED!!!!!! I about peed my pants! I had never seen this before! He would look at you and raise his eyebrows at you... creepy, but probably my favorite part of Vegas! (I'm an easy sell!)

Gamble? Us?... Never!!!!!

My Triathlete!

Saturday was Chris' first triathalon! About a year ago he told me that he wanted to do one... and he wasn't joking! Ever since he has trained and prepared for this day. He did SO awesome! I was such a proud wife!

Step 1: Get ready! There was one transition area for everyone, so each participant had their own designated spot to keep all of their stuff to run back and forth to! They also had to get tatooed with their numbers!

Step 2: The swim! 750 Meters... 1/2 mile!
Step 3: The bike! So after ripping off the wet suit, he then bikes 13.5 miles.
Step 4: The run! This picture looks like he hasn't hardly done anything, but the final event is the 3 mile run!
Step 4: Breathe and Rest!
We had so much fun watching!

Two Weeks of Vaca!

It has been a fun last two weeks for myself! Two weeks ago I flew to Colorado to spend time with my family before school started! Unfortunately Chris had to work :_( So sad! But I had a lot of fun! We did all the great stuff we love to do... you know... shop, shop, get pedicures, oh... and shop! It was so fun to spend time with my niece and nephew, who are soooo dang cute! We went to the zoo and played a lot. I also had fun oddly enough playing scrabble! I couldn't tell you the last time I played scrabble, but I kept winning so we had to play every night!

Brad comparing his size with a polar bear!
Livi loves the fish! I love the monkeys!

Then last week Chris and I went to Bear Lake for his family reunion! Chris was elated that his parents had just purchased a boat. We spent a lot of time on the boat and Chris rocked wake boarding! It was so fun to watch. The doctor said all I could do was sit on the boat... but I still had a blast!

Night Out!

Saturday night we went out with our good friends John and Bonnie! We went to the Mayan which is a fun restaurant with cliff divers... it was lots of fun, but unfortuanely it lived up to its reputation with not having the best tasting food, but it was still a good night out!
Us!

John and Bonnie, as cute as ever!

Chris and John were deciding if they should try jumping into the water... they decided they didn't want to show up the actual cliff jumpers, so they didn't!

So fun!! We love you guys

Grandma and Grandpa!!!

A couple of weekends ago my parents came out for my Grandma's homecoming.

Chris is such a kid magnet!!!

It was lots of fun and we even had a waffle breakfast Sunday morning prepared by my Dad... Dad... you are a crack up! Now I know where I received my passion for cooking!!!

Don't you love the aapron!!!

We love you guys!!!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!

Chris turned 24 on July 3rd! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Unfortunately he had to work all day, but that night we had a big BBQ at our new place here in Sandy! We planned on eating down by the pool, but it was so hot outside we just stayed in our apartment. It was a little tight with 14 of us, but it was lots of fun! After dinner some of us made it down to the pool!

We love parties!!!!!!!!!
We used our bbq we got for our wedding for the first time! We had hamburgers, brats, fruit kebabs, chips, salad, corn on the cob, and dessert! I made Chris his favorite cake which is torted with whipped cream. It is easy to make except getting it not to slide all around!

I think Chris was a little excited to get his b-day present... the all coveted Wii! He has wanted one for.... a long time, so I think he was pretty happy! Don't worry... the very next morning we beat mario cart! It's a hard job, but someone has to do it!

Happy birthday to Chris!!!

Love you!

Goodbye to Provo

It finally happened... Chris and I are no longer provo people. It's definitely a bitter-sweet situation. It's funny how you think you are ready for something and then once it happens you think... wait a minute... maybe not! We are glad to be where we are and although sometimes we complained or found things wrong with Provo it was sad to say goodbye to where we met, fell in love, graduated, lived, and loved.

Here are some memories from Provo and our first apartment...

We were in apartment 210, but the one never really existed... so people were always a little confused, plus the fact that in our complex the numbering was as random as could be!

Our easy bake oven! This freakin oven was so dang small... we had to buy a special pan just to fit in it. It burned EVERYTHING on the outside and left EVERYTHING doughy on the inside, you can just imagine how devastating this is to a foods teacher! I came out of the bedroom and found Chris cleaning it like this with his head light on the day before we moved! Such a boy thing! I laughed so hard when I saw! He is a good cleaner though so I shouldn't laugh!

Our closets! Some of you may not know this, but I'm a girl!... and with being a girl sometimes comes what we like to call little "breakdowns!" Well one day I had a breakdown because of how little our closet was. Everything was so jammed packed in it, it was impossible to get anything back in once it was out, because of this, there was usually a pile that grew larger and larger next to the closet. The next day I came home from work and Chris had moved ALL of his belongings into the coat closet so that I could have my own closet! How cute is that! I almost cried when I saw. I'll always remember those dumb closets!
This was "my closet"

This was "Chris' closet"

When I moved to Provo, I was moving there just for the summer and I had no intentions of staying any longer than that. The Lord however had a different plan for me and I ended up staying for a couple years. I'm so glad I did and we will miss it!
