Firsts!

I am bound and determined to never have Adyson ask me why there are so many more pictures of McKenna, so I'm trying really hard to capture all of her firsts! She has had a lot of those lately!

Adyson's first time going to church...

First time going to the pool...

How Adyson felt after the pool...

and her first time meeting her Grandpa Dalby!...

My dad is in town this week for business and so we got to spend a little bit of time with him! Saturday night we went out to eat at the Elephant Bar with him and my grandparents and Sunday he joined us for church and dinner! We all loved seeing him... especially McKenna!

McKenna thought it was pretty fun trying on her Dad's and Grandpa's shoes!

We all had a great time!

4 Weeks!

Yesterday was Adyson's 4 week birthday!... I CANNOT believe she is already 4 weeks old! I want time to slow down!

My friend Jessy took some pictures of the girls yesterday (Thanks Jessy!)

Adyson- 4 weeks!

McKenna- 18 months!

A typical McKenna expression!...

Later that day I was in the other room nursing Adyson and when I was done I came out to this...

Chris making a treat for the football game party we were headed to and a naked McKenna "helping" him! The girl loves her peanut butter!

Labor Day!

Although Chris has only been in school for a week... we were thrilled to have today to get a little R and R and have family time!

This morning we took McKenna to her first movie, Toy Story 3... since there are only 2 movies that McKenna will actually watch (Toy Story and Shrek,) we decided she might actually do okay in the theater for it! She did pretty well for the most part. Her favorite part however was sitting on the stair of the aisle and looking at the little lights that go up and down the aisle! If you know McKenna, then you know she is VERY expressive... she kept saying "OOOOOO, Wow," at the lights! We had a great day!

Notice how McKenna has both her blankie and her binky... both of which are not supposed to leave her bed these days, but we decided to pull out all the tricks for the movie! :)

Here is McKenna and Adyson having their first bath together... Adyson looks THRILLED! :) ...

Back to Life... Back to Reality

All day I have had the Ace of Base song stuck in my head... "Back to life... back to reality!" Chris officially started his 2nd year of med school today. I can't believe how fast our summer went by! Next summer Chris will start his rotations so this was our only summer off.

Everyday when Chris leaves for school it's very important to McKenna that she goes to the window to wave goodbye!

Chris starting school also means that it was my first day home alone with both of the girls. I'm pretty proud of myself because we made it through the day and even survived a trip to Kohls!

McKenna is getting very good at going up and down the long staircase to our apartment. I'm not supposed to lift anything heavier than Adyson for another 4 weeks (yeah right... like that's going to work with an 18 month old at home!) Let's just say, it takes FOREVER to go up and down them but she is doing a great job!

Here is Adyson doing what she does best!...

Adyson 18 days old.... we are soooo in love with our baby girl!

Being Home!

Our first week home with Adyson has been great... here's some of what we've been up to!...

Adyson had her first doctor's appointment last monday when she was just 4 days old! She was looking good!

Here are her stats:
7 lbs. 13 oz.- 50%
20 1/2 in.- 75%
Head 13 1/2- 25%

We had to get her blood checked because she was looking a little jaundice... but her levels were all good! We still tried to sun bathe her some to get her yellow out!

Chris doesn't start school until the 30th so we are eating up the time we have with all of his attention!

McKenna had her half birthday! 18 months already! It's crazy! Here she is with her half birthday cake!

Lately she can often be found right here... in my nursing chair! It has been in her room her whole life and she never showed any interest in it... but now that it is moved into our bedroom, she wants to sit in it all the time!

Adyson's first bath at home! She loved it... can't you tell! :)

We are still working on McKenna being soft with Adyson! Right now she is ... well... Not soft with her! Let's just say, we NEVER leave Adyson alone with her... just as precaution! She is always trying to hold her, pick her up, kiss her, give her her binky, blanky or a toy... DANGER!

But she is a great big sister!

Nana was here for 10 days and Papa came for a couple days after a business trip! It was WONDERFUL having them and I was a little (a lot secretly) sad when they left, I wish they hadn't!

Chris and McKenna are getting a lot of swimming time in since Adyson and I are housebound... boo!... But at least they are having fun! When we ask McKenna if she wants to go swimming now she gets REALLY excited and runs into her room to get her bathing suit!

Here is how Chris plays with McKenna... she loves it!

I recently got her some water wings, she loves them and is doing great with them! She can be much more independent and not almost drown every 5 seconds like she did pre-water wings!

Chris and his dad playing pass the baby... this picture does not capture how high or far they were throwing...

"Sigh"... come back!

Adyson and McKenna taking their first walk in the new stroller! We went to get frozen yogurt!

I am recovering well from the c section! I ran out of pain pills las week and had a really hard weekend without them... I now have more and so life can go on!
