On Chris's Birfday... the day before the 4th, Kristina drove the girls and I to the airport so we could head to Colorado!!! The girls were SOO excited for our travel plans and SOO excited that they got to go on the airplane! This was my first time flying with both the girls by myself. In the past I have STRESSED when I just had one of them. I didn't even worry for a second this trip. Both of the girls are at a good age that I knew they'd do fine! Plus... now that I'm experienced I knew just to have plenty of bribes and shows on my laptop to keep them occupied!
Can't you just see their excitement.... haha... I loved it!
The push pops, gummy worms, and Strawberry Shortcake movie totally worked! They were great! Their favorite part was taking off and landing.... oh the landing! You know how you scream and holler when you are on a roller coaster or some other ride... that's what they were doing! It was really funny, cute, and embarrassing all at the same time!
The next morn was the 4th! I was THRILLED to wake up and go running in the non-Arizona heat... it. was. awesome. And I have only missed a day since! Then my parent's ward had a pancake breakfast and Grandpa, as tradition, was in charge of the pancakes or as we like to call them... "Dadcakes."
McKenna was thrilled they had her most favorite toy to play with... rocks... such a novelty! :)
And Adyson Isabelle was thrilled with the Dadcakes!
They were both thrilled just to be outside not in AZ heat!!!
After naps we headed over to the park with Grandma, Uncle Ryan, and Peanut!
The girls thought it was the most fun thing in the world to "walk" Peanut... even though we really know that Peanut walks them! :)
There were no fireworks for us this year since 99.9% of the state was in flames. Instead we had a night in with mom's homemade pizza and I made a flag cake. My Dad said he was "Pleasantly shocked" at how good it was even though it was just a cool whip topping hahaha! And yes... there are 50 "stars" :)
After putting the girls to bed me and all the boys headed over to see the new Spider Man and my madre offered to stay home with the sleeping babes! So nice! Thanks Mom! Shockingly I, the girl, was the only one that enjoyed the movie... who woulda thunk?! Not me!
The brother's were MORTIFIED that I wanted a picture in the theatre... too bad hehehe My Dad even had to take it twice, and this sadly was the best one because we were all cracking up!
If it doesn't make it onto the blog did it ever even really happen????? :)
It was a great 4th and I'm so glad we were able to spend it in CO! More trip updates to come!
Chris Update: He spent His actual birthday at the first day at the hospital! Then that night he said he treated himself to a Chinese buffet. I think his exact words were "I could have written a book titled... "The sad story of the morbidly obese, alone customers at a Chinese buffet." Kinda sad! Happy birthday honey :) The 4th he wanted to make sure he was on the night shift so he could see any excitement the fireworks might bring in! (My parents thought that sounded kinda morbid to be excited about injuries but hey... the boy's gotta get experience somehow! Apparently they had an entire area sectioned off for burn injuries.
Happy 4th everyone! Hope you didn't spend it in the ER :)
