Only 3 1/2 more days of only having 2...
It's funny how just when it starts to feel a little easy it gets mixed up... that's how life is right!!! McKenna and Adyson have been playing really well together lately, Chris is home so I'm not a single parent anymore, and I'm pretty comfortable with our weekly routine. This week it will all change which is scary but also very exciting that we get to meet the newest love of our life!
McKenna lately:
- Started Sunbeams! She is definitely NOT one of the kids that had a hard time moving from nursery to sunbeams. She absolutely LOVES being one of the big kids and her teachers are amazing! Yesterday she had her first primary activity... a breakfast to get to know her teachers better! After the activity she said "Thanks for taking me to the breakfast Daddy, it was so much fun there!
- Loves to know about when she was a baby. Everyday she asks me to tell her what she liked and didn't like. What she ate. What she wore and how she acted. She thinks it is hilarious that she hated snuggling when she was a baby. She has also turned into such a snuggler lately! She loves her some snuggle time!
- Every night before she goes to sleep i sing to her our own version of "Hush Little Baby." It starts with the normal words... mocking bird... diamond ring... then that's where I had to make up my own words since I didn't know anymore! She loves it. She always says, "Mom do even big kids get to have a song at night?" She's very concerned that when she gets too old I won't sing to her anymore. I assure her she will NEVER be too old :)
- She's my little shopping buddy. Last week Chris had a day off and she and i went shopping while Adyson slept. We have a song we sing when it is just she and I. It goes... "Mommy and McKenna, Mommy and McKenna, No. One. Else. ... No One. Else... She thinks it is just great!
- When we were shopping I was looking at something for a little bit. I turned around and she had on this big hot pink bra. She hurried and ripped it off when she saw me and she was super embarrassed. It was so funny and so cute!
- She loves to have a babysitter... when our friends Kristina and Parker were coming over she suggested that we leave and they babysit them. She loves anyone that will play with her! This includes random kids she meets anywhere that are automatically her "Best friend!"
- She is so not a home body... she is always asking to go somewhere... this is the OPPOSITE of Adyson!
- Lately she thinks it is SOO funny to copy everything I say. I DO NOT think this is funny. Chris actually thinks it's hilarious how bugged I get by it! Drives me INSANE!
- Started going to nursery for the first time without her big sister! We think it is GREAT for her to have social time by herself! After the first Sunday Chris asked one of the teachers, "So was she easier without her sister?" He replied "Uh, yeah... actually she was!" Hahaha.
- Right after Thanksgiving she lost her binky... so we naturally just took it away at that point. This made her naps go down from 3-4 hours to maybe 45 min. Over Christmas she was sleeping AT ALL... Chris and I were about to rip our hair out. So we totally gave in and went and bought her a binky! TERRIBLE I know! But I really could care less. She is back to her 3 hour naps where she just goes right in and puts herself to sleep! Sometimes a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do :)
- Like I said before, she is the opposite of McKenna... she is a home body! When we drop McKenna off at preschool she always just wants to go home!
- She is still the little snuggle bug that she has always been!
- She has always been SUPER jealous if I EVER hold any other baby or kids so I've been REALLY trying to talk up her new baby sister! She says she is going to hold her and love her and kiss her!
- She STILL pretends to be a doggy all the time... including right this moment as I type!
- She doesn't have too many friends that are just her own but the other day we were talking about McKenna's friends and we were talking about her friend Olive, who has a little sister Madge and Adyson VERY strongly said "No... Madgey MY FRIEND!"
- She's as stubborn as a rock... sometimes we will take an hour of going back and forth to timeout to do a simple task like putting her jammies in the dirty close! What a little stinker!
- Her vocabulary gets larger everyday! My favorite thing is during family scripture reading at night. When it's her turn she repeats everything Chris says and it's so funny to hear such big words come out of her mouth :)
- Her song of choice at night changes but at the moment it is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star :)
I love these two... can't wait to meet their next partner in crime!!!
