Grandma and Grandpa!!!

A couple of weekends ago my parents came out for my Grandma's homecoming.

Chris is such a kid magnet!!!

It was lots of fun and we even had a waffle breakfast Sunday morning prepared by my Dad... Dad... you are a crack up! Now I know where I received my passion for cooking!!!

Don't you love the aapron!!!

We love you guys!!!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!

Chris turned 24 on July 3rd! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Unfortunately he had to work all day, but that night we had a big BBQ at our new place here in Sandy! We planned on eating down by the pool, but it was so hot outside we just stayed in our apartment. It was a little tight with 14 of us, but it was lots of fun! After dinner some of us made it down to the pool!

We love parties!!!!!!!!!
We used our bbq we got for our wedding for the first time! We had hamburgers, brats, fruit kebabs, chips, salad, corn on the cob, and dessert! I made Chris his favorite cake which is torted with whipped cream. It is easy to make except getting it not to slide all around!

I think Chris was a little excited to get his b-day present... the all coveted Wii! He has wanted one for.... a long time, so I think he was pretty happy! Don't worry... the very next morning we beat mario cart! It's a hard job, but someone has to do it!

Happy birthday to Chris!!!

Love you!

Goodbye to Provo

It finally happened... Chris and I are no longer provo people. It's definitely a bitter-sweet situation. It's funny how you think you are ready for something and then once it happens you think... wait a minute... maybe not! We are glad to be where we are and although sometimes we complained or found things wrong with Provo it was sad to say goodbye to where we met, fell in love, graduated, lived, and loved.

Here are some memories from Provo and our first apartment...

We were in apartment 210, but the one never really existed... so people were always a little confused, plus the fact that in our complex the numbering was as random as could be!

Our easy bake oven! This freakin oven was so dang small... we had to buy a special pan just to fit in it. It burned EVERYTHING on the outside and left EVERYTHING doughy on the inside, you can just imagine how devastating this is to a foods teacher! I came out of the bedroom and found Chris cleaning it like this with his head light on the day before we moved! Such a boy thing! I laughed so hard when I saw! He is a good cleaner though so I shouldn't laugh!

Our closets! Some of you may not know this, but I'm a girl!... and with being a girl sometimes comes what we like to call little "breakdowns!" Well one day I had a breakdown because of how little our closet was. Everything was so jammed packed in it, it was impossible to get anything back in once it was out, because of this, there was usually a pile that grew larger and larger next to the closet. The next day I came home from work and Chris had moved ALL of his belongings into the coat closet so that I could have my own closet! How cute is that! I almost cried when I saw. I'll always remember those dumb closets!
This was "my closet"

This was "Chris' closet"

When I moved to Provo, I was moving there just for the summer and I had no intentions of staying any longer than that. The Lord however had a different plan for me and I ended up staying for a couple years. I'm so glad I did and we will miss it!

Wasatch Back... and I'm still alive!!!

This last weekend was my first race, the Wasatch Back. Holy Cow!!!!!!! This was honestly the most insane thing I have ever been a part of! It is total 181 miles that our team ran. It goes all the way from Logan to Park City. Each team has 2 vans. Runners 1-6 in one van and runners 7-12 in the other. I was runner 8. When the people in your van are running you follow close to them and make sure they get the water they need and support them. Which we definitely found out was so very important. I actually teared up a couple (okay more than that, but come on, I'm pregnant!) because it was so awesome to see our team being so supportive when it seemed literally impossible and like we wanted to quit. Our team name was "Because I'm Awesome!" After that race, we really do think this! It's so difficult because it takes so long. It took our team 32 hours to finish and so it is not only physically exhausting, but mentally, and emotionally exhausting as well. We had a lot of fun and I'm so glad I did it (now that it's over!) My favorite leg by far was my run at 2:00 in the morning, even though it was my longest at 7 miles, because it was so nice and cool and a lot of it was down hill! My kind of run!

I was also excited to get a medal... oh the things we'll do for a shirt and a medal!!!

Now that it's all over I feel great and I'm ready to get back to working out, although I think I'll stay away from running for at least a couple of weeks. The only negative thing afterwards is that I have had a permanent Charly horse in my left calf since I've been home. It hurts incredibly bad... hopefully it will go away soon!

Thanks to my hubby for being so supportive and to such an awesome supportive team who helped me through the entire race! This is our team "Because I'm Awesome!" Our team color was orange! We made orange capes, painted our nails orange, and were just all oranged out!!!
At the end of the race, we meet up with our last runner and all run into the finish line together!

Baby on the Way!!!

It's true! We're going to have a baby!!! I'm only a couple of months along, but I'm real bad at keeping secrets! Both Chris and I are so excited!

So far the first trimester has been pretty good! As long as I keep food in my stomach I don't feel nascious! The main issue has been finding something that I want to eat. I usually feel like one thing and even the thought of anything else makes me gag... sad... but true! It's okay, it will all be worth it!
To tell Chris' parents we made them these shirts since this will be their first grandchild! They are going to be great grandparents!!!

School's Out for the Summer!!!

PURPLE PIONEERS BABY!!!!

This is a picture of all of the Family and Consumer Science teachers at Lehi High! Me, Tammy, Val, and Christine! They've been such a huge help to me in my first year teaching!

Well let me just say.... I think I am worse than the students on being excited for the summer! It is so good to have a break! Chris and I are really enjoying this time to just relax and spend time together! I was going to teach summer school, but no longer am. They offered me the position, but it was only one class and it really wouldn't be worth the drive and gas money. Chris has had a lot of interviews, but we're still waiting to hear back from them! Our fingers are crossed!

We did however make a huge decision that we have been trying to make for months! We are officially moving to Sandy to a complex called Legends at River Oaks. It's a quiet little place right next to the golf course that will do us well! We're excited to just have officially made the decision! We'll be moving in on July 1st! Provo has been good for us, but we're excited for something new! We got the chance to go to dinner with some old friends last week! Cristina, my old roommate and co-worker at the BO and manager Paul and his family, as well as Jenna who has been on a mission! Summer time is so fun.

Other than all of that we are having fun staying up late and sleeping in! Chris is busy getting applications together for med school. He's applying to about 50 this year! We are also busy working out! Chris is currently training for a triathlon later on this summer and I am training for a race that is on the 20th and 21st of this month. A nurse that Chris works with asked me if I would join their team... it's called the Wasatch Back and it is 178 miles long..... um.... gulp... yeah! That was my reaction! It's a team of 12 and we each run 3 legs. My first leg is 3.5 miles, second leg is 7 miles, and the third is 6 miles. I'm way nervous because I haven't done a race before but I am trying to get ready for it! I've always been a gym goer, but I've started running outside which is a whole different game! I'm excited to do something new, plus Chris is such a great support! 14 months after our wedding day and I'm more in love than ever!

Happy summer!!!!!!!!!!

Long Time no Blog!

So it has been a long time no blog! kept either leaving my camera at school or my cord at home! Woops! We've been having lots of fun though lately! A couple weekends ago we went out with some friends of our Matt and Sheena. We were trying to do something new and fun and so we bought tickets online for a concert in Salt Lake. We hadn't heard of the band, but we figured it would be fun. We went to Cheesecake Factory before which is my FAVORITE place ever!!! Chris always gets this monstrous burger which is huge! He also convinced Matt to get it! I LOVE THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY!!!!

After dinner we went to the concert and I honestly have not laughed this hard since I was like 12! We walked in and lets just say.... we didn't exactly.... fit in! The first thing they said to us was, "Are you guys here for the right concert." It was a couple of guys screaming their lungs out tossing their long black hair on a stage and like 8 people standing below the stage! What can we say?! We tried to be fun and exciting! The laugh was worth the money we paid! We were at the concert for about 5 minutes and then left! Sheena just kept saying, "I'm wearing pink!" We didn't have anything to do after that and so we ended up going camping. It was a blast and we can't wait to do it again!
The guys started the fire while the girlies got the tent set up! We felt so accomplished!

Decisions, Decisions!!!

Well three more weeks and ... school's out for the summer!!! Oddly enough I have applied to teach summer school! Um... yeah??! What an exciting year it has been! So much has happened including my first year teaching. It's been a roller coaster but mostly uphill! The other day in foods class we made an intalian cheese bread! One of my students name is Brandon and he insists on whatever we make he has to put a 'B' in it somehow... he is a crack up... the picture is what he did with the bread!
My student's bread! They think they are sooooo funny... and well... they are!
The question that we've been facing right now is what to do with our lives for a year. Chris has applied to several different jobs, mostly in Salt Lake and he's had a few interviews already. I have applied to teach summer school but don't know if they will need me yet. We have been trying to decide for months now if we should try and buy a condo or townhome or rent. We have a different answer everyday! Some of the rent is more than a house payment would be, however we don't want to be stuck with a house that can't sell if we end up going out of state for med school in a year! Decisions decisions!!! The decision right now is to rent for one more year until we know for sure where we are going to be! The other day we were out house hunting for hours and finally became depressed... we were driving home and saw a ton of signs for a huge furniture sale and oddly enough we found ourselves there soon enough! We ended up buying a couch... hmmmm... no house... don't worry we'll still find a way to spend our $$$$$$! We haven't picked it up yet but a picture of it is below from the store. Chris fell in love with this red chair... he didn't want to get out of it! I was starting to get a little jealous! It's funny how picky he is about furniture. Since he is so tall he has to have enough room! It's quite humorous! however, we didn't get it!
The couch of our choice!

MY CUTE COLLEGE GRAD!

So college Graduation was not a big deal to Chris... but I was so excited for him! He has worked so hard and now he can get a big boy job until med school! He graduated in genetics and biotechnology... um.... yeah.... stuff way over my head! Both 0ur families were able to attend which made it even better. Thursday was the commencement ceremony and Elder Bednar spoke! I love him! For those who attended Yidaho with me when I did he gave the classic "Love to learn and learn to learn" speech we heard all the time from him! It was great! Then on Friday the individual colleges have the graduates announced and walk across the stage. Afterwards we all headed up to Draper for an awesome BBQ with more food than we could ever want. It was lots of fun and I'm so proud of my cute college grad hubby!

That entire side of the marriot was all graduates! There were soooo many! Chris didn't sit with the graduates... he sat with me during the commencement ceremony!

Elder Bednar!

Med School

Hi everyone!!! I know.... we are bad bloggers! A lot has happened... A couple weeks ago Chris found out about med school and it's a no go for this year. He's okay with it however and is kind of excited to have a break! He's gone through school so fast he deserves it! So now we are stuck with the whole not knowing thing for another year! Right now he is currently job hunting around Salt Lake area and starting the application process again for schools. he only applied to about 4 or 5 schools this year and will be applying to about 50 this next year! Keep your fingers crossed!
