Happy Half Birthday!

Last week McKenna turned 6 months! It seems like she has been in our lives much longer than half a year, but it is crazy how fast they grow! I decided to copy my sister and make her a half cake for her first half birthday... any excuse for cake!

All Growed Up and Going to Med School!

Yesterday was Chris' first day of classes for med school... so we did the classic first day of school pic! So far here is what we know...

1. There is going to be a lot of studying
2. The seats he has to sit in at school are VERY uncomfortable
3. I'm sooooo glad we got cable because I am going to become very good friends with TLC and the Food Network with all this school work Chris is doing!

Although it is going to be a lot of work I know Chris is happy to be a student again!

Goodbye Utah... Hello Arizona

This was our cool trailer we rented for the week that Chris' parents pulled for us down to Arizona!

After Chris and I decided we were going to Arizona our days were filled with making plans and spending as much time with our family and friends. We will certainly miss Utah. We graduated from college, worked, and started our family in the last 5 years all in UT.

We are going to miss have Chris' parents around so much! We have gotten so close to them!

Also... right before we left McKenna ate cereal for the very first time... although she tastes just about everything on Chris' plate, including his dinner roll which is in a picture below! We can't keep this girl away from food! She loves it!!!


Now we are in Arizona and loving it so far. Church went great on Sunday and we hope to make some great friends with some of the other couples in our same position. We spend a lot of time at the pool! Chris starts orientation in the morning!

Hello from the Pool!!!

Our family is officially in AZ! We got here Tuesday evening and moved in Wednesday morning! Everything went smooth thanks to Chris' parents who pulled our very large and wobbily trailer! I am currently sitting by our apartment pool (which we have been to every night!) We don't have internet yet and so pictures and more details will have to come later (I know... a post without pictures is sinful!) but we are alive and so happy! We expect visitors often!!!!

Major U Turn!

Our little family has had a major U turn in our lives! A couple of days ago Chris got a call from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona... and let him know that he's been accepted! Chris and I spent the next several hours and deliberated what we should do. We are less than a week away from our move. We have decided to go! So Des Moines is out and Arizona is in! Chris has been applying to med school since we've been married and we are SO excited to finally get this process started! Arizona just feels right! We have been looking for housing in Des Moines for months... and hadn't found anything. Within 24 hours of being accepted we had housing picked out and the contract signed! Everything just fell into place. We will be leaving Tuesday and moving into our new home Wednesday!

This was Chris' Birthday gift that was delivered to the house late! I had a bright orange
(which if you know Chris... you know this can match his bright orange scrubs and bright orange crocs that are ummm... yeah... very bright!) stethoscope made for him that has his name engraved! Med school here we come!

Hague Family Reunion!

We spent last week at Bear Lake with my mom's side of the fam for the Hague family reunion! It was so much fun to see and catch up with everyone! Chris had his last day of work before we left so we were able to all relax together!

Before we left, McKenna and I went and got pedis!... ok... well I got a pedi and the lady there cut McKenna's nails! When I sat down she automatically put her hands on the dryer... she's a natural!

Moving on

So much has happened lately! We are now officially as Chris would like to put it "squatters," living in his parent's basement until are big move to Iowa. The move went well and we are grateful they are letting us live here for a couple of weeks!

McKenna had her 4 month check up and she is doing great! She is STILL getting over being sick and has a lingering cough and stuffy nose... we wish they would go away! We were very proud of ourselves because both McKenna and I did much better this time at the doctors! McKenna only cried a little and I didn't cry at all... man we're good! She continues to be tall and skinny with her stats being:

Height: 25.59 in. - 86 percentile
Weight: 13.34 lbs. - 33 percentile


For the 4th of July/Chris' b-day weekend we went to Bear Lake and stayed in his Aunt Betty's trailor right off the lake. It was fun except I got very sick on the 4th and unfortunately am still sick... boo. Happy 25th b-day Chris! We love you!
